We started Berg for families with a mortgage.

“We started Berg because the people we built for are not investors with a fund. They are families with a mortgage. A backyard residence in Los Angeles rents for about $2,000 to $3,500 a month. That can cover most of a mortgage payment, or it can be the retirement income a house finally pays back.”

Who builds it

Taron leads every project. The Berg crew builds it.

Taron Sargsyan founded Berg Development after seven years of building in Los Angeles. He is the licensed general contractor who leads every job and holds a degree in architecture, so the lot read, the design, the permits and the site are one responsibility: his. What we build

Three things, one licensed team.

Each one is priced online from public county records, by the same people who build it. Residences and roofing serve Los Angeles County; solar serves all of California.

Backyard residences

What fits on your lot, in 3D.

Type your address and the studio reads the county parcel, your house and the zoning, places the residence on your lot and gives you an honest all-in range. One hundred named residences by size, three looks, then your style, color, roof and finishes. The next step is a $500 Design Session, refundable until the session and credited to your project.

Roofing

Shop your roof online.

Shingle, tile or flat; the brand, the color and the work: fascia, gutters, tear-off, plywood. We size it from the county building outline. Your online price, confirmed at the site visit before work starts. Sign online, pick your week, and Berg's own crew installs it with a 10-year workmanship warranty.

One set price for everyone.

No door knocker, no sales rep, no commission in your bill. We read your roof from the county data; you choose how much of your usage to cover, the panel, the inverter and the battery, and you see your price. Sign online, pick your week, and Berg's own crew installs it, across California.

Feasibility first, honest numbers, and you see every day.

Feasibility before design

The studio reads the parcel, your house and the zoning before anyone draws. If a detached residence does not fit, it says so and shows the garage conversion or the attached option that does.

Honest numbers

An all-in range with checkpoints: construction, plans, permits, utilities and site work listed line by line. Every change is priced before it happens, never after.

One responsibility

Design, engineering, permits and construction under one roof: design-build, led by a licensed general contractor with a degree in architecture, so the drawings are buildable and the price holds. One licensed team from the first lot read to the keys.

You see every day

Nightly photos and comments from the crew in your project portal, the schedule and milestones, invoices and documents, and your questions answered within one business day.
