1. The short version
- This site sets four cookies of its own. Three keep a person signed in. The fourth remembers the preview passcode while the site is in private preview.
- The site uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies.
- Any analytics we use work without cookies.
- Once the preview ends, you get no cookie from this site if you only browse, look up an address and get an estimate.
- Cloudflare, which protects the site, may add one security cookie of its own. See Other companies.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. The cookies here are strictly necessary for signing in or for the preview passcode, so the site does not show a cookie banner.
2. The cookies this site sets
| Cookie | Who gets it, and when | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
bp_portalStrictly necessary | Customers. Set when you sign in to the project portal with your access code, or right after you send an online roofing or solar order. | Keeps you signed in to your project portal. It holds your project's ID, a version number, an expiry time and a signature. It holds no name, email or phone number. Your browser sends it to the portal pages only. | 30 days. Removed when you sign out. It stops working if Berg issues a new access code or closes the project. |
bp_crewStrictly necessary | Berg's crew. Set when a crew member opens the crew link for a project. | Keeps the crew member signed in so they can upload photos and notes for that project. It holds the project's ID, a version number, an expiry time and a signature. Sent to the crew page only. | 180 days. Removed on sign-out. It stops working if Berg issues a new crew link or closes the project. |
bp_adminStrictly necessary | Berg's office. Set after the admin PIN is entered. | Keeps Berg signed in to the admin. Sent to the admin pages only. | 30 days. Removed on sign-out. |
bp_gateStrictly necessary | Anyone who visits while the site is in private preview. Set after the preview passcode is entered. | Remembers that the preview passcode was entered. It is a passcode memory, not a sign-in. It is not used once the site is open to the public. | 30 days. |
All four cookies are set by this site only. Scripts on the page cannot read them (HttpOnly). They are sent only over encrypted connections (Secure). They are not sent along when another website loads something from this site (SameSite=Lax).
3. Browser storage
Some sites save data in your browser in other ways, called localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB. This site does not use them.
Like any website, your browser may keep copies of pages, images and fonts for a while so they load faster. That is your browser's normal cache.
4. Analytics without cookies
We can count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. When it is switched on, it is cookieless: it sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser. It does not follow you to other websites.
Our server also keeps simple daily totals, such as how many addresses were entered that day. These totals hold no personal information.
Our Privacy Policy lists what is collected.
5. Other companies
- DocuSign and Xero. When you sign your agreement in DocuSign, or open an invoice in Xero, you are on their pages. They set their own cookies there under their own policies.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare protects this site. If it needs to check that a visitor is not a bot, it may set a short-lived security cookie of its own, such as
__cf_bmorcf_clearance. Whether it does depends on Cloudflare's settings for this site. Cloudflare describes these as security cookies, not tracking cookies. They are not in the table above because Cloudflare sets them, not this site. - Google Fonts and jsDelivr. Your browser downloads the typeface and the 3D library from them. They do not normally set cookies for this use.
6. How to clear or block cookies
- Sign out. Signing out of the project portal removes the portal cookie.
- Clear them in your browser. Open your browser's settings. Look for Privacy, then Cookies or Site data. Remove the entries for this website. Look for bergdevelopment360.com, and for any other address you used to open the site.
- Block them. You can set your browser to block cookies. The public pages still work: the address lookup, the 3D studio and the estimates. You cannot stay signed in to the project portal with cookies blocked.
